THe CENTRE FLO TRAVELLING
Band Screen
The centre-flo screen is an in-channel, ‘in-to-out’ type travelling band screen suited for screening water and waste water. The design is unique and well suited for high flow rates with narrow and deep channels, where other types of
screens will not easily fit.
I
ts modular design integrates screening, washing and dewatering of screened solids in a single compact unit.
The centre-flo screen belt is constructed of ultra high molecular weight polyurethane (uHmWPe) guide links and stainless steel grids, separated
by spacers that prevent any metal-on- metal wear.
The influent enters the centre-flo system and undergoes a 90 degree change in direction as it flows through the continuously moving screen belt. Stainless steel hooks, which are interspersed within the grid assembly, lift the solids that are greater than the openings and drop them into a central flume located at the top of the machine.
A set of two sparge pipes with nozzles spray water and dislodge solids that are trapped in the screen belt. The solids are then directed out of the screen into a screw conveyor or screw press, through a flume system where they can be dewatered and compacted as required.
The centre-flo travelling band screen is capable of handling flows of up to 28,530 gpm (6,480 m³/hr) through a single unit. Vee-Wire® screen and perforated plate screen panels are also offered based on requirements.
